My 2008 travels included Salmo Ski Hill.
The tour went on to Fernie.
The next stop was Wapiti near Elkford.
Across the border near Blairmore, Alberta is a place called Pass Powderkeg.
Back in BC, I skied at Fairmont Hot Springs.
Next stop was Panorama.
A little further north is Kicking Horse, near Golden.
I left the Purcell range and headed west to the Selkirks and Revelstoke Mountain.
I spent a day at Harper Mountain, near Kamloops.
A side trip took me to a small hill at Clearwater.
Soon after I was back at Mount Baldy.
The next trip started at Sun Peaks.
From there I headed North.
Back to Alberta and Marmot Basin, near Jasper.
Heading home I took a pic of the planned resort of Saddle Mountain, near Blue River.
2014 started at Apex since old favourite Mount Baldy didn’t open.
It was nice, but I found myself looking toward Mount Baldy alot.
Then it was on to Big White.
It was nice, but I kept taking pictures of Mount Baldy.
The Black Forest Chair.
Mount Baldy again.
Looking northeast from Big White.
More Mount Baldy.
Looking off to the east.
Have I found Perfection ?
Next stop was Silver Star.
You can’t see Mount Baldy from here so no pics, but I was still thinking about it.
I finished the season at Sun Peaks.
It was nice but I sure hope Mount Baldy opens next year.
Fraser River near Tete Jaune Cache.
Rearguard Falls – Fraser River.
Mount Terry Fox.
Mount Robson.
Mount Robson Lodge.
Visitor Centre – Mount Robson Park.
Robson River – Mount Robson Park.
Robson River Bridge – Mount Robson Park.
Moose Lake – Mount Robson Park.
Fraser River Bridge – Mount Robson Park.
Mount Fitzwilliam – Mount Robson Park.
Yellowhead Lake – Mount Robson Park.
Yellowhead Mountain – Mount Robson Park.
My 2013 travels began in Osoyoos.
I got a great deal on a nice room at the Poplars Motel.
The neighbours were nice.
I saved so much money I sprung for new gear.
I used it at Mt Baldy.
I also went to Apex.
Then I went past Okanagan Lake,
and on up to Big White.
Then it was up to Revelstoke, where the warnings are stern.
Then I got a room at the Silver Star Motel.
The warnings at Silver Star are much more relaxed.
On my way home I skied at Sun Peaks.
You can see Harper Mountain from here.
Day 11 began at the Hotel Jost in Klosters, Switzerland.
I was a little concerned at the lack of snow.
The five area DavosKlosters pass cost $68.03 per day.
It turned out fine though as there was alot of snow on top, and a great ski out to the bottom.
The area nearest to my hotel was called Madrisa.
There are some very odd lifts, this T-bar has a bend in it part way up !
On day 12 I took a short, free bus ride to the area called Parsenn.
When you see the royal family skiing on television, they’re usually here.
One lift is actually a train, the Parsennbahn.
Eventually, I came to Davos dorf.
Another short, free bus ride took me to the area called Jakobshorn.
This area overlooks the main part of the city, Davos platz.
I hurried back to the Parsennbahn and caught the second-last train.
The sun set on the way back to Klosters.
Day 13 was my last skiing of the trip and I started on Madrisa.
The ski out to town follows a river that starts from this man-made lake.
Near the bottom a snow-covered road crosses the run, skiers have to yield.
In the afternoon I went back to Parsenn.
The Gotschnabahn sports a plaque commemorating a Prince Charles visit.
In this view across the valley at Madrisa you can see the ski out on the right.
After thirteen glorious, mostly sunny days skiing the Alps, it was time to head for home.
I took the bus to the Bahnhof to catch my train instead of the Gotschnabahn.
I’m not sure where this bus is going.
I took a few pictures from the train, but soon realized there were too many reflections.
My eighth day in the Alps and first at St Anton began at the Hotel Schindler.
The Arlberg ski pass was good at St. Anton, Lech, Zurs, and more for $59.06 a day.
I started skiing on the Rendl side.
The lineup for this chairlift is elevated above another run.
They call this area Rendl beach.
St Anton is a pretty big resort town.
Later I crossed the valley to the Valluga side.
This is Valluga peak.
This is the village of Stuben.
A little bit to the East is an area called Kapall overlooking Nasserein.
